Trump Offers White House Press Secretary Role to UFC Chief Dana White

United States President Donald Trump has offered the role of White House press secretary to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) chief executive Dana White. Speaking at a news conference following a boxing event in London on Saturday, White confirmed that he plans to meet with Trump at the White House on Monday to discuss the proposal.

The offer was published by Trump on social media platform Truth Social on Saturday, where he called on White to take the position. In his post, Trump requested that White bring along several current and former UFC champions to serve as assistants, citing Russian fighters Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov alongside American fighters Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Kayla Harrison, and Amanda Nunes, a Brazilian native who obtained US citizenship last year. Trump stated that the group would assist in defending the administration against political opponents on the left.

The press secretary role has remained unfilled since Katie Zacharia left the post last month after serving for five days. Zacharia had succeeded Karoline Leavitt, who vacated the position at the end of August. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung, who previously worked as a UFC spokesperson between 2013 and 2016, voiced support for White's potential appointment in a post on social media platform X.

Trump and White have maintained personal and professional ties since the early 2000s, with White publicly endorsing Trump's first presidential campaign in 2016. In recent years, Trump has attended several UFC tournaments, and the White House hosted a fight event in June as part of official commemorations for the 250th anniversary of US independence. White is scheduled to confer with Trump on Monday in Washington to address the formal job offer.
