Man Armed With Firearms Arrested Near White House Over Threats to Donald Trump
Federal authorities state the suspect had a stolen vehicle containing three guns and entered the United States in 2024.

Officers from the United States Secret Service arrested a Venezuelan national carrying three firearms in a stolen vehicle parked near the White House complex on Thursday evening. According to a statement released by the Department of Homeland Security, the suspect allegedly made threats against the life of President Donald Trump during his initial encounter with law enforcement personnel.
The arrest occurred on Constitution Avenue in Washington after officers noticed suspicious activity inside a parked vehicle. When approached by law enforcement, the suspect reportedly stated that voices in his head had instructed him to kill the president. A subsequent inspection of the car revealed three firearms, including one rifle, as well as dozens of rounds of ammunition. Law enforcement officers also confirmed that the vehicle itself had been reported stolen.
Federal authorities identified the arrested individual as Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos. The Department of Homeland Security stated that Chrinos entered the United States without legal authorisation through Texas in March 2024. Following his arrest, Chrinos was charged with multiple offences, including theft and possession of dangerous weapons. He was subsequently placed in the custody of the US Marshals Service.
The case represents the latest in a series of arrests connected to security threats against Trump since he resumed the presidency in January 2025. Secret Service Director Sean Curran addressed the operational challenges associated with security surrounding the executive mansion following the incident.
This incident reflects the heightened threat environment in which we operate, as well as the continued number of armed individuals who are drawn to the White House complex, Curran said in a statement. He noted that while secret service personnel are trained to handle such encounters, the growing frequency of threat cases remains a concern for law enforcement.
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin also issued a statement regarding the operation. Thanks to our brave Secret Service officers, this criminal illegal alien with three firearms in his vehicle was arrested near the White House before he could harm anyone, Mullin said. Chrinos remains in federal custody pending upcoming judicial proceedings in Washington.
